Information in care guides and what fish species can be kept together are suggestions from general information and our own experiences.
By ordering from our website, you are responsible to have any permits that may be required for owning/importing certain species, and you are aware of any laws that your province may have.

Receiving Your Fish:
(1) You must be there to accept the package and sign for it at the time that it is delivered to the address you've given to us. If you are not there, and something goes wrong, you will be held responsible.
(2) If in the rare situation that the package is delayed or damaged, you must still accept the package. Rena's Fish Store will not be held liable if the post office or shipping courier messes up. If something goes wrong the fish usually survive, but they'll be in great danger if you refuse to accept the package.
(3) If the package is damaged, make a note on the receipt and ask for a copy or a note to document the damage.
(4) Make sure you are there to take delivery, and be sure to accept the package. Please notify us if there's a problem.
What May Happen During Transit:
-Bettas may damage their fins by biting
-All fish react differently to stress (Don't medicate your fish, it's normal for them to be stressed from shipping. Give them a few days to get back to normal)
-Chewed or bitten tails may never grow back the same (this will not affect their breeding ability)
-Fish may arrive dark, pale, or lack of their normal colours (proper water conditions, temperature and feeding should bring in back to normal)
Guarantee/Shipping:
Occasionally, shipping delays occur due to various reasons. Please allow up to 1 week to 1 month for arrival of product(s) ordered, unless otherwise stated. (Not including live animals) If the delivery time for the item(s) is delayed, we will contact you to inform you. No guarantee when shipping breakables such as glass, ceramic, etc as we are not responsible if any damage occurs. We will not be held responsible for any lost or damaged shipments by the shipping courier.
Returns & Exchanges:
You must contact us within 7 days of receiving your order before returning or exchanging items. All items sent back to us must be in their original condition, still in the box and with tags attached. Shipping and handling costs are non-refundable. We will not cover the shipping costs of returns or exchanges, even when shipping to you was free. You will be charged for any shipping costs when returning or exchanging items.
Please note that not all items are available for refunds and/or exchanges.
We do NOT accept returns for live animals & plants. If you want to cancel your order, a restocking fee of 20% will be charged.
Cancelling Orders:
There is no refund on shipping costs once the order has already been shipped. (Even if you received free shipping, it is still a service that is paid from our pocket). If you no longer want your order, you can return or exchange the items if applicable.
